Regional Trade Skills Training (TST) Work Placement Apprenticeships Program
This program allows foreign nationals to take up an apprenticeship within
regional Australia in a traditional trade. The program allows an
applicant to be accepted into a trade role as an apprenticeship for a
period of up to 4 years or until they complete their apprenticeship if
they are already partially qualified. The program offers apprentice
wage conditions for the duration of the apprenticeship.In order to qualify for this program, the applicant must meet the
following criteria:Be aged between 18-35
Be able to physically perform tasks and have no illness or disability
Have a level of English equivalent to an IELTS score of 5 and above
Be able to show proof of funds for the apprenticeship training i.e.
$AUD12,000Our partners in Sydney find positions in regional areas, i.e. if you
want positions on Gold Coast, Perth, Sydney, Melbourne etc. sorry no go

Working Holiday Visa (WHV) for relevant nationalities allows one year visa for casual or temporary work for up to three months in the same position.
All international students studying for minimum three months are granted a Student Visa which allows 20 hours per week during school term and full time at vacation, in same or several different positions. Some schools can place students into paid work generally hospitality, or “demi pair”, see www.aiec.biz
Students or those who have graduated within 2-3 years, and are 30 years of less at start of internship, can do “Unpaid Professional Internship” via Special Training Visa (416).
Tourism & Hospitality students or those who have graduated within 2-3 years, and are 30 years or less at start of internship, can do a “Paid Hospitality Internship” via Special Training Visa (416)
In 2006 we will commence placing skilled people into paid positions in regional Australia starting with Community Services to include both Aged and Child Carer positions, later Mining industry via the Occupational Training Visa (OT). Also possibilities for international students graduating in Australia to work for one year in their chosen profession.
The Trade Skills Training Visa is designed to help foreign nationals undertake an apprenticeship in regional Australia. An apprenticeship combines workplace-based training and classroom-based learning in a trade. The apprentice must be sponsored by an eligible Australian organisation.
Migration is possible through direct skilled independent via Migration Occupation in Demand List (MODL) or related study pathway. (Note: QUEST cannot consult directly on migration but can refer you to one of our migration partners below)
