Introduction:

Australia and New Zealand have internationally renowned film and television industry with Australia receiving over 35 Academy plus many Emmy and Golden Globe Awards. Many would recognise Australian film, television series, documentaries and both actors and technical staff working on international projects.

Naming just a few famous actors: Errol Flynn, Rod Taylor, Peter Finch, Mel Gibson, Nicole Kidman, Noemi Watts, Anthony LaPaglia, Russell Crowe, Judy Davis, Cate Blanchett, Geoffrey Rush, Guy Pierce, Toni Collette, Hugo Weaving, Ben Mendelsohn, Sam Neil, Rachel Griffiths, Heath Ledger, Hugh Jackman, Eric Bana etc. Directors include Gillian Armstrong, Bruce Beresford, Paul Cox, Jane Campion, George Miller, Phillip Noyce, Fred Schepisi, Peter Weir, Scott Hicks, Baz Luhrmann and more!

QUEST became involved in Australian film through assisting Pro-Four’s Andrew Sebestyen to attract sponsorship for the II Boomerang Film Festival held in Hungary 2004 in addition to students seeking festivals and competitions for submission of productions.

QUEST has compiled a listing of international film festivals held annually in Central Europe, Turkey, Australia and NZ for both students and producers. Further, international students can study all facets of tv and film production in Australia and New Zealand via many of our partner institutions and potentially work in industry.

Spotswood - A majestic saga sweeping two suburbs. It is the late 1960s. A 'time and motion' expert is called in to moderate Ball's moccasin factory. Amidst this upheaval an 18-year-old youth attempts a major romantic takeover.

Strictly Ballroom - When a young ballroom champion defies the all-powerful Federation by dancing his own steps, his dream of winning the Pan-Pacific Grand Prix is shattered. His career seems in jeopardy until help comes from an unexpected quarter and he finds the courage to challenge the Federation.

Wog Boy - A comedy about love, politics, sex, religion, culture, cars and pizza. But not in that order.
